JGroups Support
Spring Cloud Bus supports JGroups as an alternative transport for broadcasting RemoteApplicationEvent instances between application instances in a cluster.
To use JGroups as the transport, add the spring-cloud-starter-bus-jgroups dependency to your application.
Configuration
The JGroups starter supports configuring the cluster name through the spring.cloud.bus.jgroups.cluster-name property.
The default cluster name is spring-cloud-bus.
For example, to configure a custom cluster name:
spring:
cloud:
bus:
jgroups:
cluster-name: my-bus-cluster
Applications that need to communicate through the same JGroups cluster must use compatible JGroups transport and cluster configurations.
How It Works
The JGroups starter provides a BusBridge implementation that sends Spring Cloud Bus events through a JGroups channel. Incoming messages are deserialized into RemoteApplicationEvent instances and delegated to Spring Cloud Bus for normal event processing.
The starter’s auto-configuration backs off when another BusBridge bean is already configured.
